The best just got better. Straight from Pro Comp is the latest in the Robby Gordon Signature Series line, the new MX6 Reservoir Shock. Based on the original MX6 it's the only monotube reservoir shock on the market with six way external adjustability. Simply turn the one piece billet adjuster to your desired setting and go. Who says you can't perfectly dial in your ride?
This 2" monotube shock has anodized aluminum bodies and is nitrogen charged to 300 PSI. We've improved upon the MX6 design by adding a 10" anodized aluminum reservoir. It also features high quality parts like, gun drilled 14mm hardened chrome shaft, 4000 PSI 6" braided stainless steel hose, precision 46mm single piece banded monotube piston and one piece anodized billet cap. Race inspired and built to take anything you can throw at it. This race quality shock is just want you need. It's Perfection - Dialed.
Detailed Shock Features:
ONE PIECE BILLET CAP - Blue Anodized, race inspired, CNC machined billet aluminum mounting end caps eliminate the possibility of weld failure of welded shock loops standard on other so called "performance shocks". At the same time, assuring a solid mount housing location for included urethane bushings.
300PSI NITROGEN GAS CHARGED - Nitrogen stabilized and controlled via a floating piston in the reservoir. Eliminates the possibility of aeration commonly found in twin or tri-tube shock absorbers. The result, instant compression & rebound dampening with no "dead spots".
PRECISION 46 mm SINGLE PIECE BANDED MONOTUBE PISTON - 20% - 50% larger than pistons used in compatible twin or tri-tube shocks equals proportionately improved ride control and durability.
VELOCITY-SENSITIVE DISC VALVING - Velocity (or shaft speed) sensitive valving delivers an ever changing and correct amount of Compression AND Rebound control.And, unlike most adjustable shocks, at any of the 6 ride control settings based on the rate of speed the shock piston and shaft cycle. The result is control and comfort during all on and off road driving conditions, with the ability to tailor the ride to your own personal "seat of the pants feel".
2" OD ( 51mm) MONOTUBE - Seamless 2" shock body is engineered to battle the elements encountered in off roading. Going with steel rather than aluminum lessens the chance of shock body damage.(the one and only weak link in mono tube performance). Steel shock body is then epoxy paint finished and salt spray tested to over 300hrs!
10" ANODIZED ALUMINUM RESERVOIR w/ 4000 PSI "-6" TEFLON LINED BRAIDED STAINLESS STEEL HOSE - With the shock absorbers oil capacity increased by 60% and the nitrogen capacity nearly 500% greater, heat and the resulting shock "fade" are virtually non existent. Aluminum construction completes this functional performance package with less weight and great looks.
HIGH TEMP TWO-PIECE ROD SEALING SYSTEM - Cut corners in cost or quality here and you have just wasted your time and money. The seals and other internal components used in this and all MX6 shocks are precision manufactured using only the finest quality material available.
GUN DRILLED 14 mm HARDENED CHROME SHAFT - The heart of the MX6's adjustability is in a hardened metering rod ( see illustration) located inside of the precision "gun drilled" 14mm hardened chrome shock shaft. This large diameter shaft reduces flex in the shaft itself eliminating bind of the metering rod while also assuring a "diameter to length strength ratio" engineered for off road use.
6-WAY EXTERNAL ONE-PIECE BILLET ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY - No plastic "paint can" knobs here. The virtually indestructible MX6 Adjuster plugs into nothing, thus nothing to come loose or get knocked off. Available only in MX6's, is a "one piece machined knob and cam assembly" nearly 1.50"long , that controls the depth setting of the shafts metering rod while securely locking in any of 6 positions of ride control you choose.
