Finally I got my tow rig settup. I just finished the SkyJacker Soft Ride 6inch kit, Moto Metal wheels, and 37x12.50x17 BFG KM2s. Next up is a new paint job. Going to do Viper Red. Since this shot, I cleaned up the undercarriage and painted everything with gloss black high temp Krylon.

Motor: TBI 454 (7.4L) Transmission: THM400 Transfercase: NP205 Front Axle: Dana 60 Rear Axle: Corporate Full Float 14 Bolt with factory Detroit Locker Both axles utilize stock 4.56 gears. Lift kit: Sky Jacker SoftRide 6inch kit. Blocks in the rear (I tow, so I like my 10 leaf packs), replacement front springs, Nitro shocks all around, raised steering block, lowered pitman arm. Currently have stock exahust. It will be headers into side pipes that exit behind the rear door on both sides. Stock class 5 hitch. Pioneer Deck, and 6 inch speakers for now (going to do a whole new system). Truck will be painted red again here pretty soon. Thats about it for now. Truck has no dents to speak of, driver side rocker needs a little attention. Not bad though. I hate those stickers on the sides!! lol. I plan some engine performance mods too. TBI spacer, new bigger injectors, maybe a well built 700R4. etc.

Sweet! Sounds like it's pretty well built with plenty of balls to it!

What are the gears?

I am leaving the stock gears in it, 4.56. I get AWSOME gas milage on the freeway with this size of rig. 16MPG solid. And consistant (using premium of course). Believe it or not, premium can make a huge difference (really only on the older fuel injection motors). You should do a "test" and report on it. That would be a cool article. It needs to be 3 different rigs tough. Carbed, older FI (like TBI) and newer FI. My guess is, better MPG out of the carb and TBI, and no real difference in the newer FI rigs.

So far they are awsome. I have only run em on the street so far though. But they are pretty quiet and really smooth. Just what I would expect from BFG.

I am hoping to get the truck in the shop for paint this time off slope. I am thinking 2008 Viper Red should look pretty good. I snagged some nice leather all power and heated seats out of a 2008 Impala. Coupled with the autostart I plan on installing, it should be a warm ride in the winter. Not to meantion real comfy!! lol.... I want to do 4 bucket seats instead of two benches. With a nice center console and maybe a real nice stereo... This will be one sweet tow rig when done!! I found it is real hard to take the smaller truck or the car when I need to comute, lol. Just so much nicer driving this rig. The ride is so dang smooth!!

Viper red is going to look really, really nice!

I think you should lower it and put 30" rims on it though.

Just kidding. ;)
