It's not overly difficult to do with a short drop, although you won't get a lot of support or sympothy from the guys on this forum. 
You can drop your ride by several inches, depending upon your budget. The lower you go, the more expensive it will get as you'll eventually start trading out varying steering components for custom-made units.
If you want to get real crazy, you can chop & channel your rig and air bag it, so that you can lower it so low, that it rides on the frame rails. 
I can't speak from experience with the GC, as I've only lowered a few vehicles in my lift. Personally, I think the perfect lowering kit for you, would be a 4" LIFT kit.
