Hi, I am looking for people who are having Frame Rot issues on their Tundras that are 10 years and younger. I have a 2001 Toyota Tundra and just found out that the frame is completely rotted and Toyota won't do anything about it. I still owe money on the truck as I only bought it in 2004. I am located in CT and would appreciate looking into a class action suit or such as one person alone will not get anywhere with this company. Thanks |

There aren't many 10 yr old Tundra owners here (if any) [:D]
OK, jokes over, I feel your pain, Toyota has a long history of frame rust issues, dating back to the early 80's.
The frame on my 83 4x4 p/u rusted out to nothing long before it's time. I eventually had to replace the frame. Toyota did nothing.
Just recently they recalled 10 yrs worth of Tacomas for totally rusted out frames, they're paying big $ to buy them back.
If Tundras have that sort of problem also, maybe there's hope for you.

| Whoa, I have NEVER heard of a TUNDRA frame rusting out!! That is the first case I have ever heard of that. I recomend that you get ahold of a lawyer or something to help you along with this. Toyota is most deffinately not going to want to give you a new rig, or fix yours. But with the proper legal work and persuasion, they may have to. Unless they want a big lawsuit over a really bad crash or something. Its not like you are asking for the moon on this. A new rig is more than fair. I cannot believe something under10 years old is rotting out. Unbelievable. Goood luck to you my friend, keep us posted if you get any info. Rick may even want to make this a Sticky, so that others can see it. |

I've seen this happen on dozens of Toyota mini-trucks in the past. The paint that Toyota puts on their older frames were horrible... would last a few months at best. I can't speak for the new frames, but from what I've seen in the past, this doesn't surprise me.
I'll tag this thread for a bit... good idea.
Darren - if you don't have a good lawyer, I can turn you onto one. Advice / consultation is free, and he's quite good.
