| so what do you guys know about the canaliever suspensions i think it might be the new suspension for fourwheel drives. anybody else have a opinion? |

It's spelled Cantilever... :)
The principal of it is REALLLLLLLLLLLY old, actually. They've never been an overly popular method to control a suspension, but that's certainly not to say that it's a good way to do it. It's an interesting principal really, and it seems like a great way to deal with controlling suspension, and dealing with tight spaces at the same time.
I have to wonder though, how geometry plays into the effective dampening control that the shocks are supposed to provide. We did an article several years back about shock absorbers, and how mounting them at angles effectively reduces their dampening capacity, so I'm curious as to how that plays into it - if at all.
The staff here at 4X4REVIEW have been kicking around the idea of building a cantilever suspension system for our project FJ40 as we're dealing with space issues as well.
It's an interesting concept, that's for sure.
