Corsa Introduces 2007 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra Performance Exhaust System for 5.3L & 6.0L Engines

Maintains tuned sound during cylinder deactivation

May 2007 - Berea, Ohio - While the Active Fuel Management (AFM) cylinder deactivation-equipped engines found in General Motors' (GM) new 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks are designed to save fuel, they can also play havoc with aftermarket exhaust systems. Only the CORSA® Performance exhaust system, designed specifically for these AFM engines, is capable of maintaining a "tuned" sound, regardless if the vehicle is in four- or eight-cylinder mode.

"Running a V8 on half its cylinders means an increase in certain noise, vibration and harshness, including exhaust sound," said Jim Browning, Sr., founder and president, CORSA Performance Exhausts. "Running the Silverado and Sierra trucks in four-cylinder mode, as happens during cylinder deactivation, presents an entirely different set of sound characteristics than when it's firing on all eight cylinders. Yet we've developed an exhaust system that produces a pleasing note in either mode."

CORSA's new stainless steel performance exhaust for the Vortec 5.3L & Vortec MAX 6.0L V8 2007 Silverado and Sierra pickups features a straight through design coupled with the company's patented Reflective Sound Cancellation™ (RSC) technology, which creates a robust, full-bodied sound while eliminating undesirable low frequencies that cause droning.

The CORSA exhaust system is available in two exit configurations depending on the vehicle owner's preference and needs.Corsa Exhaust for 07 Silverado/Sierra

A side-exit system provides sophisticated good looks to compliment its performance and great sound, while the dual under-the-bumper exit design delivers aggressive performance looks to reveal the real 'muscle' in these modern trucks. Both systems are available in two different sound levels: Sport (a robust, V8 muscle car sound) or Touring (a more mellow, refined tone). Both feature a non-restrictive straight-through design delivering up to 69% gain in exhaust flow over the stock system and an increase of up to 10 h.p. and 14 lbs./ft of torque to the wheels.

"We're currently the only aftermarket performance exhaust manufacturer that does not require the relocation of the spare tire with our dual under-the-bumper rear exit system," said Browning. "Our innovative design routes the pipe in a manner that allows the spare to remain in its stock location."

Constructed entirely from premium stainless steel, both systems feature handcrafted Pro-Series 4.0-inch tips for an enhanced vehicle appearance. The performance exhaust bolts directly to the factory catalytic converter and requires no welding.

The new CORSA exhaust system in both exit styles is backed by a limited lifetime warranty, is 50-state emissions legal and does not void the new vehicle warranty. Both can be purchased direct from CORSA Performance Exhausts and through select dealers/retailers/distributors nationwide.

Focusing on the development of proprietary technology, CORSA Performance employs patented Reflective Sound Cancellation technology in its performance automotive exhaust systems. CORSA's 100 percent stainless steel cat-back exhausts are specifically tuned to each vehicle to eliminate passenger cabin resonance and to produce just the right sound. CORSA offers performance exhaust systems and accessories for cars, trucks and SUVs.
