TEAM HUMMER POISED TO SWEEP STOCK CLASS SEASON CHAMPIONSHIPS

DETROIT – After sweeping the SCORE International stock full and mini class season championships, Team HUMMER is gearing-up for the Best In the Desert racing association’s Henderson FabTech Desert Classic season finale, December 6, in Henderson, NV.

With the team’s H3, H3 Alpha and H2 SUT leading the season points in all three BITD stock classes, Team HUMMER owner Rod Hall and sons Josh and Chad are well positioned to add the BITD stock class season championships to their remarkable list of 2008 season accomplishments.

The 2008 BITD Henderson FabTech Desert Classic features a four-lap race conducted over a rough, high-paced 48-mile loop and Grand Prix-style finish in the unforgiving desert surrounding Henderson, NV.

Legendary off-roader and Team HUMMER H3 pilot Rod Hall, 70, continues to dominate the stock mini class, most recently securing his third consecutive SCORE International stock mini class season championship.  In the BITD series, Hall has recorded class victories at the Terrible’s 250, Vegas To Reno and Silver State 300 and currently leads the BITD stock mini class (3100) in total points.

Team HUMMER’s H3 Alpha is piloted by Chad Hall, who most recently won the stock full class at the 2008 Baja 1000 and earned the 2008 SCORE International stock full season championship.   Hall currently leads the 2008 Best in the Desert stock full SUV class (4100) season points with victories at the Terrible’s 250 and Vegas To Reno races.

The eldest Hall son, Josh, currently leads the BITD stock full truck class (8100) season points in his 2008 HUMMER H2 SUT.  He enters Henderson race with class victories at the Terrible’s 250, Vegas To Reno and Silver State 300 competitions.

A sweep of the BITD stock class season championships combined with the SCORE International stock class championships would mark the first time a team has won every stock class season championship in both desert racing series.

“Victories at the final 2008 race would put an exclamation point on a remarkable season,” said Hall.  “Our ability to consistently finish at the top of the stock classes race-after-race is a great testament to the durability of HUMMER vehicles.”
